F1 Hungarian GP LIVE: The FP2 session has concluded and it’s Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who takes the session after clocking the fastest lap time. He was followed by Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz in the second and third spots. The thirteenth round of the F1 2022 season will head to Hungaroring, Hungary in the form of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Red Bull looks to assert dominance in the championship and extend their lead over Ferrari and Mercedes. Both, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have a great chance of winning this year but Lewis Hamilton can give the sucker punch as Mercedes have shown immense improvements in the last two races. Lewis Hamilton has won the most number of Hungarian Grand Prix’s with eight wins under his belt. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen both are yet to win a race here as it was Alpine’s Esteban Ocon who clinched the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.

He is followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who endured a DNF at the French GP and is at the second spot with 170 points. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez takes the third spot and is seven points shy of Leclerc with 163 points.

How the constructors’ table looks like: Red Bull too is leading the constructors’ standings with 396 points. Ferrari takes the second spot with 314 points and Mercedes are 44 points behind the Italian side with 270 points.

When was the track built?

Work started on the Hungaroring in 1985, and the track was race-prepared only nine months after the fact. The Hungarian government had initially thought to be restoring the old Nepliget park circuit in Budapest in a bid to have Formula 1 in the nation, yet in the end chose to make a purpose-built facility instead.
