A bizarre thing happened today on the streets of Baku as Yuki Tsunoda’s DRS broke into two parts and he was shown a black and orange flag on lap 37 of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

It meant that he had to make a move to the pit lane to get the DRS sorted and AlphaTauri fixed it with duct tape. It was an unusual thing that happened today as nothing similar has happened in the history of Formula 1.

On top of it, Tsunoda was looking for a comfortable top ten finish but his pit stop denied him that. He finished the race thirteenth overall and had to settle for zero points.

Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda sees himself down in the fifteenth spot in the drivers’ standings with just 11 points to his name. Moreover, his best finish in the 2022 season came at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix where he finished seventh overall.

In the season opener at Sakhir, Tsunoda saw himself finish eighth and then he followed it up with a DNS against his name at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

He then secured a P15 and P7 at the Australian and Imola Grand Prix. The inaugural Miami Grand Prix saw the Japanese driver finish 12th overall and he followed it up with a P10 finish in Spain. The Monaco Grand Prix saw the AlphaTauri driver finish the race in the seventeenth spot and today he claimed the thirteenth spot overall.
