In the FP1 session, it was Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who dominated the proceedings as he topped the charts. He was then followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and his teammate Max Verstappen in the second and third positions.

- The Qualifying session for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will start 15 minutes late. That is because FP3 was delayed by some barrier repairs, and the teams need two clear hours between sessions to ready the cars for qualifying.

In the FP2 session, Charles Leclerc asserted his dominance as he took home the first spot. He was then followed by both the Red Bull drivers as Perez finished second and Verstappen had to settle for a third-place finish.

In the FP3 session, Sergio Perez again continued to show his great run of form as he clinched the first spot overall. He was followed by Charles Leclerc in the second position and Max Verstappen had to settle for a third-place finish.

F1 Azerbaijan GP LIVE: How the Qualifying session works
The qualifying session will start at 22:30 IST today. The qualifying session is divided into three parts, Q1, Q2, and Q3. Q1 lasts 18 minutes and has all 20 cars on the grid. At the end of Q1, the five slowest cars are eliminated. Drivers who finish 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 are eliminated.
Q2 session lasts for 15 minutes and has 15 cars on the grid. Again the slowest cars are eliminated from 11th to 15th position. Q3 lasts for 12 minutes and has 10 cars on the grid. The position in which the drivers finish in Q3 will be their starting grid positions for the race.
