Dhoni vs Virat Kohli – Why Winzo has taken MPL to court? Winzo has alleged that MPL has copied it gaming format ‘World War’.
In March, Winzo said it found that MPL had copied the proprietary format using an identical name.
The company said that MPL took down the format soon after it was notified, but MPL started using it again under a different name in April.
Winzo then sent a legal notice to MPL, but the latter refused to take down the format.
When the matter came up for hearing by the Delhi High Court on June 3, MPL’s counsel agreed to stop using the format and was willing to give an undertaking that ‘World War’ won’t be used in its game and offerings, Winzo said.

MPL has decided to let go of more than 100 employees as it has decided to exit the Indonesian market.
MPL Co-Founder Sai Srinivas informed about the move via internal memo to employees.
The Memo said the “philosophy of growth at all costs is now reversed” and that the “market is now rewarding profitable growth”.
