HALFTIME
GOALLLL!!! ZANIOLO PUTS ROMA AHEAD!!!!!! 1-0!!!!! The Italian outfit open the scoring with the first chance of the game courtesy of a smart finish from Zaniolo. Mancini floats a cross to the back post that sails over Trauner and is chested down by Zaniolo. He has to react quickly amid the onrushing Bijlow, but he pokes an effort past the Feyenoord keeper which finds the back of the net.
It has been a defensive struggle to date in the contest. Both teams are finding life tough to create chances.
Trauner wipes out Abraham to stop a Roma counter and goes into the book.
Pellegrini tries to thread a pass through for the run of Zaniolo in the Feyenoord box, but it just evades the forward and travels through to Bijlow.
Mkhitaryan is forced off with an injury and is replaced in the Roma midfield by Oliveira.
Mkhitaryan is down for Roma and appears to be struggling with an injury. He was carrying a knock into the contest and it seems that he will have to make way.
Pellegrini makes a run forward for the Italian side and tries to release Zaniolo through the middle, but his pass is intercepted with ease by Trauner.
Sinisterra and Mancini battle again down the left flank. Mancini appears to pull the shirt of the winger next to the corner flag, but the referee points for a throw-in only.
Roma are taking their time to settle into the contest amid the fast start of the Dutch outfit. Mourinho needs his team to find a period of possession.
The Dutch side are getting their foot on the ball in the early stages of the game and are pressing Roma back to the edge of their own box.
Feyenoord probe down the left flank and Malacia lifts a cross into the box for Dessers to attack, but Ibanez is alert to clear the danger.

Having won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League twice, José Mourinho has the chance to clinch a third major UEFA club competition trophy. European Cup runners-up in 1984, Roma lost out to Serie A rivals Inter in their only other major UEFA final (the two-legged 1991 UEFA Cup decider) but have a chance to take their first major continental trophy in Tirana.

European Cup winners in 1970, Feyenoord lifted the UEFA Cup in 1974 and 2002 and could thus become the first club to have had their hands on all three of the current major UEFA club competition trophies. Arne Slot’s side have the competition’s top scorer, ten-goal Cyriel Dessers, but lost 3-2 on aggregate to Roma in their only previous meeting, in the 2014/15 UEFA Cup round of 32.

View from the camps
José Mourinho, Roma coach: “I don’t believe in magical potions, I don’t believe in magical spells […] There’s nothing special to be done, just us to be us as a team. Knowing the qualities we have, knowing the limitations we have. For me, no matter how the final ends, this is a positive season for us.”
Gianluca Mancini, Roma defender: “The two best teams in the tournament face each other, it’s 50-50. We know what we have to do, and we know their strengths and weaknesses.”

Arne Slot, Feyenoord coach: “We know what to expect [from Roma], but you never know, sometimes their coach has a little twitch in his game plan. But we’ve seen a lot, so we hope we’re prepared in the right way, and if he does surprise us […] we’ve played 55 games [this season] so I’d be a bit surprised if he could think of something that we haven’t had yet.”
Gernot Trauner, Feyenoord defender: “Of course, I’ve prepared to play against [Tammy] Abraham. He’s physically strong, has good technique and knows how to score goals, He’s one of the key players for Roma. We have to try to keep him out of the end zone.”
