French Open Day-4 LIVE – Raducanu vs Sasnovich LIVE: Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich clinched an upset victory over 12th seed Emma Rducanu in the second round of the French Open on Wednesday. Sasnovich came back after losing the first set to defeat the reigning US Open champion 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 to move into the third round for the first time at Roland Garros. The British 12th seed, making her professional debut this year at Roland Garros, had also lost to 47th-ranked Sasnovich at Indian Wells in 2021 in her first match since her shock US Open victory.

Maria Sakkari vs Karolina Muchova 

Fourth seed Maria Sakkari will face Karolina Muchova in the second round on Wednesday. Sakkari is one of the contenders in women’s singles and she defeated Clara Burel 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round.

Meanwhile Muchova is playing her maiden Grand Slam tournament this year after missing out the Australian Open due to abdominal injury. Muchova enters the second round after sailing past Carole Monnet in straight sets. Sakkari is expected to clinch a straight set victory in the upcoming contest.

Novak Djokovic vs Alex Molcan 

In-form Novak Djokovic will look to seal his spot in the third round of the French Open as he takes on Alex Molcan in the second round. Djokovic dropped just four games in his opening round against Yoshihito Nishioka and he is in a terrific form at the moment.

Meanwhile, Molcan enters the second round as he defeated Federico Coria 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the first round. Molcan entered the French Open after finishing as runner up at Lyon Open. Earlier this year he was also the runner-up at Grand Prix Hassan II. The 24-year old will face a tough challenge against the World No.1.

Alexander Zverev vs Sebastian Baez

Third seed Alexander Zverev is looking to enter the third round at Roland Garros as he faces Sebastian Baez in the second round. Zverev won his opening round in straight sets with a 6-2, 6-4, 6-4 victory against Sebastian Ofner.

Meanwhile, 21-year old Baez defeated Dusan Lajovic in four sets to make it to the second round. Baez faced a second round defeat at the Australian Open this year against Stefanos Tsitsipas and a similar script is on the cards for the Argentinian against Zverev.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Albert Ramos-Vinolas 

Sixth seed Carlos Alcaraz faces compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the second round on Tuesday. Alcaraz showcased his terrific form in the opening round as he dropped just six games to defeat Juan Londero in the first round. Alcaraz, who defeated both Djokovic and Nadal at Madrid earlier this year is being looked upon as one of the contenders for the title at Roland Garros.

Meanwhile, Ramos-Vinolas defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis in a four-setter in the first round. He has entered the second round of a tournament finally after three unsuccessful attempts at Geneva Open, Italian Open and Madrid Open, where he faced first round exits. Carlos Alcaraz is the favourite in the upcoming contest.

Rafael Nadal vs Corentin Moutet 

Rafael Nadal, who is eyeing his 22nd Grand Slam will be in action against Corentin Moutet in the night session. Nadal defeated Jordan Thompson 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round to storm in to the second round at his favourite Grand Slam tournament. He will face Corentin Moutet in the upcoming contest. Moutet defeated Stan Wawrinka in a four-setter in the opening round. Moutet will be up for a tough challenge against one of the world’s best players.
